Did Donald Trump win, or did Hillary Clinton lose?
Winner: Donald Trump.
He might turn out to be a very successful President, given that he has a GOP Congress to work with for at least his first 2 years, or he might turn out to be the dog who finally catches the car and says, "Now what?"
Loser Hillary Clinton.
You couldn't beat Donald Trump. Seriously . . . . ?
Winners: Elizabeth Warren and / or Michelle Obama.
They can now focus on 2020 and take up the mantle of being the first female President.
Loser: The Clinton Brand.
The kimono has been opened, and as is true in so many cases, that isn't a good thing. Better hope Obama has that blanket pardon in his pocket signed before he leave office. At least your granddaughter won't be visiting Nana in prison . . . .
Both sides, but especially Trump, shredded any pretense of civil discourse in Presidential elections, likely for years to come.
We'll hold out hope for a peaceful transfer of power in the next 70+ days, but this is something our country has done very well since it's inception.
Loser: The mainstream media.
See: Opening the kimono referenced above. And I don't think a Trump presidency is going to be very kind to you and your Constitutional "protections". What's really sad is that it took an illegal hack of a liberal's computer to expose you for the frauds and coat holders we all knew you were, but could never prove.
Winner: Megyn Kelly.
Despite protestations from Trump supporters, she played it straight and honest, going after both sides for their problems, and she can write her own ticket anywhere if she wants.
Loser: Donna Brazile.
Employing too many former DNC and Obama administration hacks has watered down your brand and objectivity.
Winner: Third parties.
While still meager in total votes, they swung state results in different elections with totals exceeding previous years.
Winner: Manufacturing unions.
I predict jobs are heading back to our shores before too long, even if not to the levels needed for you to regain your previous strength or influence.
Loser: Public sector unions.
Winter is coming . . . .
Winner: The Supreme Court.
Given the age and health of the liberal wing of the current court, Donald Trump can shape Constitutional protections for decades to come.
Winner: America (again)
But only if all those liberals who threatened to leave the country if Trump was elected follow through on said threats.
Your failed experiment ends with a override of the filibuster sometime in the first 6 months after Trump takes office.
Loser: Barack Obama.
Your divisiveness, pandering, "my way or the highway" brand of "leadership" enabled someone as flawed as Donald Trump to succeed you, and your partisan campaigning for someone under an active FBI criminal investigation (concluded or otherwise) degraded the office you held and never truly respected.
Hi! I'm Dave Richard, your host. I hope you enjoy your visit. We'll be talking about current events, politics, the occasional sports (I'm a HUGE New England Patriots fan, so get over it), and some "Get off my lawn!" issues.
