I say American Socialists, because the term "liberal" doesn't quite fit these extremist yahoos anymore, especially given my libertarian roots.
While "liberal" and "libertaran" share the first 5 letters of each word, they are worlds apart in goals and meaning.
Anyway, where is it written that the only way to fight unhinged is to act even more unhinged? Let's face it; Donald Trump ran a successful campaign by being just unhinged enough for many Americans to vote for his message of real change, especially given just how unappealing the prospect of President Hillary Clinton was to even more people. But the uber-left has taken their usual brand of crazy to a whole new level.
I'm constantly amazed that such a useless show as 'The View' is still even on the air, given that two of the main mouth breathers on that show are falling C-listers like Whoopie Goldberg and Joy Behar. These two dispicable examples of the worst in human devolution have given themselves a platform where no one dares challenge their misguided views, or they get shouted down or belittled with name-calling. Even when they make a half-hearted attempt to listen to another viewpoint, they quickly and rudely interrupt their guest and then monopolize the remainder of the segment.
And after absolutely evicerating Donald Trump for his earlier pronouncment that he might not accept the results of the election, these two and even more of their fellow B and C-listers in Hollywood are leading the way to have the Electoral College vote in opposition to the will of the electorate in states where Trump won.
So it was awful when Trump said he might not accept the results of the election, but it's now OK to not accept the results of the election?
If they were any more two-faced, they'd have three . . .
Let's look at what has happended since the first Tuesday in November:
Green Party candidate Jill Stein, with the overt support of Clinton campaign operatives and leaders, requested recounts in three states they were convinced couldn't have possibly voted for Donald Trump; Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania. Wisconsin's recount was completed and Trump actually gained almost 200 more votes. Pennsylvania's recount request was thrown out because Stein lacked both standing and proof of alleged "tampering", and when Michigan began their recount efforts in advance of a legal challenge to stop it, they found that between 35% and 50% of votes in heavily Democrat districts like Detroit and Flint had been initially double-counted, and therefore could not be included in any recount effort.
Mercifully, the Michigan recount was stopped in the courts before the evidence of massive Democrat vote-tampering and/or mismanagement could come to light, or this could have become really embarrassing for Democrats.
With Monday's Electoral College certification looming, and no chance to peel off enough (or any) electors away from Trump, the Socialists have now pivoted to claiming Russian interference in our elections. OK, so let's believe that this most incompetent of administrations has any actual evidence that a third-party such as the Russians actually hacked into Clinton campaign personnel files. What was Russia's motive? A Trump win? Donald Trump is the epitome of a loose cannon in a world that craves predictability. He's all for "putting America first" and "making America great again". Do you think Russia wants that to happen?
The opportunity was certainly there, but the motive was sorely lacking.
It all points to a concerted effort by the Socialist left to refuse to accept the results of an election they thought was in the bag. Maybe if they'd listen to anyone other than themselves or their cheerleading accomplises in the media and academia, they would have realized that all too many Americans didn't want their brand of politics or their nominee. The Founding Fathers created an Electoral College to balance the impact of large states so that they wouldn't overwhelm the smaller states - making them all equally important. That there are now only three states out of fifty that sport both a Democrat-led legislature and governor, the reality is that Socialism took a hit over the past 8 years.
And THAT is good for a future America.
